This mouth-watering recipe for barbecued bacon double smash burgers is perfect for pairing with a glass (or two!) of our classic Mendoza Malbec.
FULL RECIPE:
Serving Size 4
Ingredients:
• 1,500g Beef Mince, 20% fat
• 4 x Burger Buns
• 4 x Sliced American cheese
• 16 x Rindless streaky bacon
• Tomato Ketchup • Burger Sauce
• Salt & Pepper to season
• Optional Pickles
Method:
STEP 1 – PREPARATION
Roll 180g mince portions into 8 balls, pack lightly
Refrigerate overnight so they are chilled
STEP 2 – GRILLIN’
Prepare a hot plancha/griddle
Add bacon rashers to grill
Place balls on the plancha
Smash down the mince with a burger flipper, with a greaseproof paper slice between the flipper and burger
Season top of burger with salt and pepper
STEP 3 – FLIP
Flip burger and season the other side
Add cheese slices on top
Close BBQ lid
Start toasting buns
STEP 4 – ASSEMBLY
Take the buns out
Check the internal temperature of the burger with a probe
Burger Sauce the bun base
Tomato ketchup the bun lid
Add 2 x beef patties Add bacon
Add pickles
Add lids
Serve with a glass of Beefsteak Club Malbec (available in the UK through all major retailers)
